House Captains
Our House Captains are an invaluable part of our School Community. The House Captains represent our School Houses.
Our House Captains are chosen in a special election at the beginning of the academic year. The candidates prepare speeches and then all the children vote in their House Teams for their Year 6 Captains for the year.

What are the qualities a House Captain needs to possess?
To show kindness, patience, teamwork. We must also show courage, be respectful and safe.
In what ways will you encourage your team, particularly on Sports Day?
I will give them the message that, even if we lose, we can try harder and win next year. We should help with the layout of Sports Day and make sure no-one is feeling left out.
What are your favourite sports? Why?
Netball - I have done this since I was very young. I really enjoy it.
Football - I play with friends and it is a lot of fun.
Hockey- I have done this longer than I can remember.
Volleyball - It is fun and energetic.
Running - I love running. It makes me feel free and all my troubles I outrun! -

A House Captain needs to show kindness, responsibility and teamwork.
In what ways will you encourage your team, particularly on Sports Day?
I will give the message that, even if we lose, we will try harder next year so we will win eventually. If we win, we will help the other teams and make sure people don't cheat!
What are your favourite sports? Why?
Football because it is a tough and competitive sport.

I will cheer my team on, lead them and support them.

Football because I like to enjoy time with my friends.

What are the qualities a House Captain needs to possess?
Sportsmanship, happiness, kindness to others. We must also be responsible and respectful. We must also show perseverance and believe in our team.
In what ways will you encourage your team, particularly on Sports Day?
By being very cheery to younger ones and by being kind. We should also tell people to believe and I need to make sure my team is cheering. Also, saying 'good luck' to everyone who goes in a race.
What are your favourite sports? Why?
- Football because I love scoring goals . I'm a striker and a massive Brighton fan and I play for Pagham.
- Basketball because I love bouncing a ball around.
- Cycling because I love being out and about.
- Rounders because I love hitting a ball very, very far.
- Tennis because it is really fun and it is good for fitness.
- Badminton because it's fun and nice to play on holiday. -

A good sportsperson and kindness.
In what ways will you encourage your team, particularly on Sports Day?
Cheering them on, saying, 'you can do this!' and being a good sport even if you don't win.
What are your favourite sports? Why?
Gymnastics is one of my favourite sports because I did my first cartwheel with my sister when I was five. Another one of my favourite sports is running. I enjoy running because I'm good at it . I came 24th out of 108 people in Corporate Challenge. I also like netball - I've been doing netball for 3 years now and we came 6th best in West Sussex. I also like football - I do girls' football at school and I enjoy that.

What are the qualities a House Captain needs to possess?
In what ways will you encourage your team, particularly on Sports Day?
I will encourage all of Yellow Team to make sure everyone is having as much fun as they can and cheer them on. Even if Yellow Team do not win, I will check they had fun on the way. If they don't want to join in, I will encourage them to join as as much as they can.
What are your favourite sports? Why?
Football because it's fun and really exciting if you score a goal. If you win, it's also really fun and there are so many skills to learn. I also like running because it's really good for you and really fun.
